Growing Together: Helping Children Manage Big Emotions

Event Description:
Group for parents to help their child(ren) with emotional regulation by learning strategies for it and gaining insight into their and their child's emotional experience.

Target Audience:

Parents who want to help their child(ren) with emotional regulation

Dates & Times:

Week 1: Thursday, October 16th, 2025
Week 2: Thursday, October 23rd, 2025
Week 3: Thursday, October 30th, 2025
Week 4: Thursday, November 6th, 2025
Week 5: Thursday, November 13th, 2025
Week 6: Thursday, November 20th, 2025

Location:

This group will be help via our HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

Pricing:

$30 per parenting/caregiver set (2 people) for the entire 6 week series, due upon registration

Facilitator Information:

This group will be led by Lucy Katter and Marshall Campbell, student therapists at Fortis.

 

Week 6:

Session Focus:

Reviewing what emotional regulation is, what effective strategies there are, how our thinking affects emotions and how to be more present.

Session Purpose:

Our final session brings everything together.

You’ll review the skills you’ve practiced, celebrate progress, and solidify strategies so you feel confident continuing to foster emotional regulation, connection, and resilience in your family long after the group ends.

Session Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • At the end of the group, parents will have at least 2 strategies they can use with their child to help them coregulate, and more insight into their own thoughts and emotions and how those affect their children.
