Growing Together: Helping Children Manage Big Emotions

Event Description:
Group for parents to help their child(ren) with emotional regulation by learning strategies for it and gaining insight into their and their child's emotional experience.

Target Audience:

Parents who want to help their child(ren) with emotional regulation

Dates & Times:

Week 1: Thursday, October 16th, 2025
Week 2: Thursday, October 23rd, 2025
Week 3: Thursday, October 30th, 2025
Week 4: Thursday, November 6th, 2025
Week 5: Thursday, November 13th, 2025
Week 6: Thursday, November 20th, 2025

Location:

This group will be help via our HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

Pricing:

$30 per parenting/caregiver set (2 people) for the entire 6 week series, due upon registration

Facilitator Information:

This group will be led by Lucy Katter and Marshall Campbell, student therapists at Fortis.

 

Week 2:

Session Focus:

Explaining importance of co-regulation/breaking cycles, how to apply skills from self to child

Session Purpose:

This session focuses on helping parents manage their own emotions in response to their child’s big feelings.

By learning to stay calm and grounded, you’ll be able to respond with patience and connection rather than reacting out of frustration, modeling healthy regulation for your child and strengthening your family environment.

Session Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will:

  • parents to be able to apply emotional regulation strategies to their child
