Why I Became a Therapist

I am inspired by couples. Walking into a room filled with so much emotion, passion, and vulnerability genuinely brings me joy. I remember, as a child, having thoughts and feelings and wondering if I was the only person in the world who experienced them. Entering the therapy world gave words to experiences I had never been able to explain, and having someone understand or even say "me too." That changed my life.

I love helping people make sense of their experiences in a way that feels understandable, predictable, and, most importantly, changeable. There is something deeply meaningful about watching people realize they are not broken—they are human. And it's even more powerful when your partner, the most important person in your life, begins to understand your experience too. Seeing couples face the realities of being human together, with greater compassion and connection, is what makes me excited to do this work every day.

Expertise:

Couples Therapy

I love seeing courageous couples walk into the therapy room and choose connection over giving up. As relational beings, I believe our relationships can bring some of our deepest wounds; but, more importantly, they can also offer profound opportunities for healing.

Through couples therapy in Olathe, KS, I find it meaningful and powerful to help two people who matter deeply to one another slow down, understand each other in new ways, and reconnect.

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy in Olathe, KS, I help couples strengthen their emotional bond and create a safer, more connected relationship. Whether you are seeking marriage counseling or support for another stage of your relationship, therapy can provide a space to move toward greater understanding, healing, and connection.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

I chose Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) because it offers a meaningful roadmap for helping couples create moments of understanding and connection rather than simply learning to manage conflict.

Through emotionally focused therapy in Olathe, KS, I help couples look beneath the surface of recurring arguments and recognize the understandable attachment needs and longings that often drive conflict.

EFT feels genuine to who I am because it invites therapists to be present and human while creating a safe space for healing. In my work providing couples therapy in Olathe, KS and marriage counseling in Olathe, KS, I believe that conflict does not necessarily mean two people are broken or simply “incompatible.”

Often, there is an opportunity to better understand one another, strengthen emotional connection, and create a more secure bond.
