Emotional Regulation and Parenting Autistic Children in Overland Park, KS
Event Description:
Children on the autism spectrum often benefit from a collaborative team of professionals, including speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists, as well as educators and medical providers. At the center of this team is the parent—providing consistent care, advocacy, and support.
But who supports the parents?
Parents Need A Herd Too is a support group designed to provide a safe, welcoming space for parents of children with autism. This group offers an opportunity to explore complex emotions, prioritize self-care, and build meaningful connections with others who understand the unique challenges and rewards of parenting a child on the spectrum.
Target Audience:
This group is intended for individuals or couples that are the primary caregivers for at least one child, ages 2-18, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Self Care without the guilt
Session Purpose:
Parents will discuss viewing self care as necessary for a caregiver rather than something selfish and indulgent.
Session Objectives:
