Autism Parenting Support and Online Therapy in Kansas
Event Description:
Children on the autism spectrum often benefit from a collaborative team of professionals, including speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists, as well as educators and medical providers. At the center of this team is the parent—providing consistent care, advocacy, and support.
But who supports the parents?
Parents Need A Herd Too is a support group designed to provide a safe, welcoming space for parents of children with autism. This group offers an opportunity to explore complex emotions, prioritize self-care, and build meaningful connections with others who understand the unique challenges and rewards of parenting a child on the spectrum.
Target Audience:
This group is intended for individuals or couples that are the primary caregivers for at least one child, ages 2-18, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Communicating needs and support
Session Purpose:
Parents will explore the barriers that prevent them from asking or receiving help and support and practicing expressing their needs.
Session Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will:
each parent will express at least one unmet need
